My first exhibition was mercilessly criticized under the slogan: “It is not an exhibition of yours, these are... two exhibitions. And, more precisely, three or four. In short, you have to gush out with one stream and not like the fountain at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy“.
That’s how my folder “Stories” was born: in every section there are my feelings and thoughts about… What? About everything: from mysterious secret meetings of Boris Berezovsky in Riga to Latgalian old-believer grannies and street cleaners with new brooms. I hope that everybody who wanders into this folder will feel what I felt when being inflamed by a new idea. And he or she will see the world through my eyes.
Моя первая выставка была беспощадно раскритикована под девизом: «Это у тебя не выставка, а... две выставки. Точнее три или четыре. Короче, фонтанировать надо в одну струю, а не как фонтан на ВДНХ».
Так у меня появилась папочка «Истории»: в каждом разделе – мои ощущения и мысли о... Чем? О разном: от загадочных тайных вечерях Бориса Березовского в Риге до латгальских бабушек-раскольниц и дворников с новыми метлами. Надеюсь, что всяк, в эту папочку забредший, почувствует то, что чувствовал я, когда загорался новой идеей. И увидит мир моими глазами.2011
